"The church will stand as a mighty tower on the storm washed coast,
warning and rescuing men, until earth's last storm is over and earth's
last soul is redeemed."

About us

Our church was founded in 1867. We have been blessed in so many ways by both current and former members.  The First Baptist Church of Davis has a rich heritage and we are excited about our future. With each challenge we have encountered, we became stronger in our faith. We are a family of Christians committed to the Lord Jesus Christ.  We are an autonomous body of  Christ affiliated with the Atlantic Baptist Association, the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, and the Southern Baptist Convention.  Jesus Christ is the absolute Head of our church and we acknowledge no religious authority but the infallible word of God, the Bible. As members of this church we have pledged to be growing Christians, seeking to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord. We may provide links to other sites that provide more detail on our church history or particular events in our past. We invite you to become a part of the church today and a piece of its history tomorrow. We offer guidance, love, support and most of all the Word of God.  We provide a place where Christians may gather to study the Word of God, to reach the lost for Jesus Christ, to fellowship with other Christian, to provide training for their children and youth and have their spiritual needs met by those of like faith.  We are committed to serving our surrounding community of Downeast.

Our mission is to serve as a lighthouse in our community which reflects the love, grace and mercy of Jesus Christ. There is nothing more exciting than serving where God is working! The spirit of our mission is found in God's Word: "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

(Matthew 28:19-20)
